Sweating is a natural process designed to remove toxins from one's body, but there are some people who seem to sweat far more than others. Such people find themselves constantly wiping their face and having sweat pour off it. They find their forehead, head and hair perpetually wet and sticky and look as if they've just come out of a shower.
Such people suffer from a condition known as hyperhidrosis, or excessive head or face sweating. This condition is caused due to the malfunctioning of one's sweat glands and is experienced by many people world around. This condition is not untreatable and there exist a large number of head sweating treatments and tips that will be explored throughout this article.
Like most other disorders, this one has a large number of problems that goes with it. Possibly the most important is a lack of self-esteem, as most people find it embarrassing and become self-conscious when the sweat excessively. Thus, such people do not mingle and begin to keep more to themselves. This is often difficult in many environments including corporate and social gatherings.

Head sweating also brings about acne, as bacteria thrive in an atmosphere of moisture. And needless to say, excessive sweating means there will always be moisture. Constantly washing and wiping one's face is not a solution, as the cloth used to wipe the face would only open pores in the face. These pores would be very inviting to more bacteria and thus hasten the problem of acne even more. However, there are other more effective head sweating treatments and tips that can be used to cure this condition. Some will be mentioned below.
There are quite a few head sweating treatments and tips, but many of them aren't easily available at a chemist's. The best thing for people to do if they suspect that they suffer from this disorder is to visit a dermatologist. A dermatologist could prescribe drugs that are either oral, tropical or a combination of the two. These drugs aim in preventing excess perspiration and might even stop it completely. An ingredient of most of these drugs is a chemical known as Aluminim Chloride, which is also present in most underarm sprays. Keep in mind, though, that applying your underarm antiperspirant on your face is not advisable or for that matter, safe.

However, if the condition does not get any better in spite of the medication, you could try - on the recommendation of your doctor - to get a Botulinum type A injection. This injection, also known as Botox®, has proved itself as a head sweating treatment. Do not, however, try to inject yourself unless you are supervised by a medical practitioner as this may not be safe. It is more advisable to get a dermatologist to perform the task as it requires some skill. A warning is needed here as an improper Botox injection could lead to you having an asymmetric face. Thus unlike the herbal head sweating treatments and tips, this could prove slightly harmful unless gone about properly.
